One of the smallest towns in England, North Tawton is located in the centre of Devon close to the northern edge of Dartmoor. A market town from 1374 until recently, it continues as a busy centre for the local community. The ancient High Street has many useful amenities including several pubs, The Bay Tree Delicatessen/Coffee shop, a Nat West bank, Post Office, Graylings award winning Fish & Chip restaurant and Take-away, as well as other retailers. The recent BBC series "Jam and Jerusalem" starring Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley was filmed in the town.
